I finally broke down and took the computers to a repair shop on Friday. Turns out it really was your regular, run of the mill computer virus, but it was a nasty one that they'd apparently never seen before. Halloween was pretty uneventful. I think I counted 12 trick-or-treaters in total, which was actually more than I expected, but man, do I have a lot of candy left over.
